Another Rejection

This morning I woke with that excited feeling as there was still hope of being a finalist of one of the art competitions I entered. But alas this afternoon the rejection letter came. A nice letter but still a rejection. I try to be strong but I still question whether or not I'm on the right track. Agh, this is hard. There is no manual to follow. I just have to pick myself up, dust myself off and keep blundering along in the dark. Now where did I put that next entry form........

Keep the chin up! You will get there. Your art work is great. Maybe you could set up a studio at home for people to look at or sell on ebay or etsy (you might already do this)Word of mouth works too. Us bloggers can pull together and give you a plug on our blogs to get new people to check out yours. I'm happy to do it for you.
See if there are any local shops that will put your art in their shop on consignment. I have my dolls in a shop that way. It's not making me a fortune but they are selling and its a start.
You will make it. Best of luck!

Oh sorry. Yep, keep picking up and dusting off. There is no judge that doesn't have preconceived personal preferences. I feel slighted so very often and then very often get those wonderful comments that bring my aim back in sight.

Ouch there lady... good to hear that you have another one in line to give a try.. As we've read feel the pain and then move on through it but keep moving...it's when you stop that's the hards thing on us artists...keep plugging along. Give yourself an artist day to recharge the creative side...it sure deserves kindness.

Your work is so good. I am so sorry some people are so blind. I love the portrait of Zoe. I love your self-portrait. In fact, I have not seen one piece of yours I don't love. Don't let this recent rejection get you down for too long. Remember why you started painting, and why you love creating.

That's such a shame Uta, but I'm sure these things are very subjective on the part of the judges, so you're right not to take it too much to heart. There's plenty of positive affirmation out there of your wonderful artwork. And the main thing is - YOU like it!!!

Yes, just pick yourself up and go on. I remember our poetry teacher always said you must collect those rejection letters - that's part of it! It's okay.

Uta, I have come over from the Fluffy blog to view your work. You do fabulous work! Please don't let strangers rejections get you down. If getting into competitions is important to you then keep trying, I'm convinced your work is worthy of being in art shows. But if creating the work is the most important thing for you then just create. Heck with those strangers who don't choose your work for their shows. Personally I decided to quit trying to get into shows because it made me depressed and instead I decided to make what I want just for my own satisfaction and now I am much happier about what I do. If you want to see my work you can check my profile for my blog. I can see that your art shows talent and passion, keep it up.
See you on Fluffy.

Just stay true to your heart, it knows the right track. Art can be so subjective. That you try and push yourself is such an inspiration to me. I've been going the safe route with some shows, etc but feel the need to try new things like you are doing. I too really love your work and am always blown away by every piece you do! Your creative energy is amazing. And for sure, never change your style to conform to others.
Keeping painting....
I love your spirit!
